Theft of sundial

Lanner Parish Council is deeply saddened at the theft of an armillary sundial that has graced the Lanner Lawn Cemetery for many years. A Garden of Reflection was constructed to provide space for visitors to sit and remember loved ones of which this formed the centrepiece. It was commissioned as part of a grant funded project and was made at a forge in Charlestown.

The brass sundial is distinctive and bears the inscription ‘Take time to rest and reflect on your joys’.

The Council would welcome any information that anyone can offer in relation to the theft or the whereabouts of the sundial. Alternatively, information can be passed to the police Crime Log number: CR/005402/22.

The Council are astounded that someone could have stolen such an item from a public facility that is there to serve those who have lost loved ones and who come to quietly contemplate special memories. Any help to identify the perpetrators would be appreciated but the greatest wish is to see it returned.
