Notification of Public Consultation – 23 August to 18 October 2021
We are welcoming comments on the draft Pool Vision document during a public consultation. Please find a brief overview of the document below together with a link to the consultation page for more details and the opportunity to leave your comments.
Whether Pool should become a town in its own right is just one of the questions being posed to residents during a look at the area’s future.
Produced by Cornwall Council and Carn Brea Parish Council, the Pool Vision covers everything from transport to healthcare. It aims to promote economic growth, education and training, health and wellbeing, a sense of place and identity for the area and tackle climate change.
A great deal of work has been undertaken over the last 10-15 years to support the regeneration of the Pool area, which has enabled the delivery of Heartlands, Pool Innovation Centre, new homes, etc; however, it is recognised that much more work is still required.
The intention of the Pool Vision document is to create an up-to-date, holistic plan for the continued regeneration of the area.
The document considers:
- how the identity of the area can be enhanced
- the future economic role and opportunities for the area
- improved services and facilities
- creating improved sustainable transport opportunities
- the regeneration of derelict / underutilised land; etc.
Extensive engagement with local stakeholders, including the local Cornwall Council Member and Parish Council, has taken place in preparing the draft document; but as a local resident, it is also important that we obtain your thoughts and comments on the future of your area, before the vision is finalised
Once finalised, the Pool Vision will help inform decisions on planning applications.
