Latest Crime Figures Show Devon and Cornwall Remains One of The Safest Regions In The Country

Devon and Cornwall continue to be one of the safest places to live, work and visit in the country with the second lowest total crime rate in England.

The latest Office of National Statistics (ONS) crime figures for March 2021- March 2022 which ranks all 42 forces in England report a 12.2% increase in recorded crime with 56.8 crimes per 1,000 population. This is likely due to crime returning to pre covid levels and follows national trends. (more…)

Rural Crime Appeal – Quad Theft

Over recent weeks in Devon and Cornwall we have noted a slight increase in reports of quad bike theft.

Offences are focussed mainly in the East Cornwall, North and West Devon areas and more recently we are investigating the report of a theft of quad bike from a farm building in the Bowithick area of East Cornwall. (more…)

Arrests Made Following Warrants In Cornwall and Merseyside

Police, on Thursday 14 July, executed 11 warrants and arrested 17 people as part of an investigation into County Lines drug supply.

During the warrants, which were carried out simultaneously, officers also located and seized suspected drugs and cash.

Officers arrested 11 men and five women and one juvenile, on suspicion of money laundering and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. (more…)

Stolen Beehives – Cornwall

Five active beehives were stolen from Tresillian House which is located on the outskirts of Newquay, between 6pm on Saturday 11 June and 6am on Sunday 12 June.

Police Sergeant Steve Applewhite, the Newquay Sector Neighbourhood Team Leader said: “This crime is of concern as not only has it meant that a person’s property has been stolen, but as a beekeeper myself, I am also concerned for the welfare of the stolen bees. (more…)
