Introducing the Carbon Neutral Cornwall Hive

We would like to introduce the Carbon Neutral Cornwall (CNC) Hive our new online Climate Change engagement platform.

The Council has committed to become carbon neutral by 2030. We are also working with others to help the whole of Cornwall become carbon neutral. The goal of 2030 is ambitious but that does not mean we should back away from the challenge or ambition to start this journey now.

The Council understands that not everyone knows how to reduce their carbon footprint or even where to start. We appreciate that some people need support and encouragement. There are organisations and people in Cornwall who can help other people.

We have developed the online Carbon Neutral Cornwall Hive as part of our work to support residents, community groups and businesses striving to live low carbon lives. It provides a space for people to get together, share ideas and chat about how they can shape their own response to Climate Change.

Please see our news release for more information.

The Carbon Neutral Cornwall Hive is all about sharing information and skills to help and inspire each other

The Carbon Neutral Cornwall (CNC) Hive is all about sharing information and skills to help and inspire each other. It aims to encourage ‘hive mind’ thinking with an ideas bank and an interactive map for listing low carbon initiatives and schemes. It has information about funding to help get low carbon and environmental projects underway. And it has a blog post with articles from guest writers. We hope the guest posts will inspire people to find out more about climate change and how they can reduce greenhouse gases.

We really hope you will visit the Carbon Neutral Cornwall Hive and take part in the online activities. Please share your ideas and projects, and get involved in the discussion, to encourage others on their own low carbon journeys.

Discussions on the CNC Hive will link into the Cornwall we want for future generations discussion to help shape a safe and fairer for one and all.

Let’s inspire each other to do our bit (or a bit more or loads more) and make a bigger buzz together

We want the CNC Hive to be as interesting and useful as possible. Feedback on the site is very welcome. Please either leave a comment on the site’s guestbook or email climatechange@cornwall.gov.uk

Please help promote the Carbon Neutral Cornwall Hive in your newsletters and other communications and link to it on your website. Please see attached two graphics (CNC Hive badge and CNC Hive banner) that you can use on your website, newsletters and other communications. Please let us know if we can help you with any information to include on your website or newsletters.

Feel free to share this email with your own contacts.

Let’s all inspire each other to do our bit (or a bit more, or loads more) and make a bigger ‘buzz’ together.
