Take a big leap then be ready to take small steps to influence and lead change for your community!
Lanner Parish Council has a vacancy for the position of Parish Councillor.
With cuts to local services, more demands on the public purse and so much to do to improve the life of local residents there has never been a better time to make a difference.
Application is simple, just indicate your interest to the Clerk along with submission of a brief CV, by 22nd May, with reasons why you would like to be a Councillor, what skills you could offer and any areas of special interest. Cllrs then consider this and can offer you co-option to the Council. You have to complete a declaration of acceptance of office and complete a statement declaring any personal or pecuniary interests which is submitted to Cornwall Council.
Then the fun really begins………………………………………..
Meetings take place on the last Thursday of each month at the Council Office at the Village Hall. Planning meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month and additional meetings to consider particular topics are in addition but there are seldom more than three meetings in a month.
We are certain that you would find participation interesting, informative, worthwhile and at times good fun. Things in local government are changing, services are struggling and some are failing; more powers and responsibilities are being devolved to parish/town level and it really is down to us to shape the future of the communities in which we work and live.
Why not contact the Clerk or Parish Councillors for an informal chat.
Parish Clerk: Elaine Youlton
Unfortunately, at this time face to face meeting is not possible but there is lots of information on Council website and everyone is available by telephone/email.
