Councillor Biscoe

I have a good deal of experience as a Local Councillor having served on Stithians Parish Council for several years during which time I held most of the portfolios and was Chairman and Vice Chairman at different times.

I am an agricultural officer by profession and have worked in a wide range of places including Zimbabwe, Malawi, Tanzania, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, Abu Dhabi, Vanuatu and Eswatini. Most of these countries are in Africa. I started life as an Agricultural Economist and went into Agricultural Extension to be better at bringing farmers and agricultural economics together.

During my previous time as a Councillor I also served on the Mining Villages Group (and still do) and did quite a bit of work on the Cornwall Local Plan when it was being developed.

An important aspect of Parish Councils for me is representation of the people. Making sure that the views and interests of the Parish are heard and recorded. Things move quickly these days and if you don’t speak up you get ignored and change happens around you, not always to your benefit. In addition to the day to day business of LPC I will do what ever I can to promote this.
