Lanner Cornwall

Following inspirational – though perhaps not ideal in the eyes of our friends at Health and Safety – direct action by local youngsters, moves are afoot to upgrade the community play area at Strawberry Fields with skateboard and BMX facilities. The young people who use the play area are already fundraising and are creating some aspirational designs for future use. A start to the fundraising has been pledged both by our local Cornwall councillor and by the police. At the same time, the parish council is seeking to take on a long lease of the park from Cornwall Council, the owners, and will then manage it and act as coordinator for securing grant funding to get the project fully underway.
