Environmental Crime

Environmental Crime is increasing throughout our parish and we ask all residents to be vigilant in detecting those committing criminal acts.

There are certainly some ‘hot spots’ and reports of fly tipping are regularly made to Cornwall Council.  These include areas along Rough Street, Chapel Hill, Tresavean and the car park at Wheal Buller.

Criminals leave their mark! Help stop these criminal acts

If you witness such incident please try and obtain as much information as possible including description of persons, vehicles, registration number along with date and time of the incident.  Of course, if any paperwork can be found at the scene this can greatly assist in identification of the offenders.  Photographic evidence is also particularly helpful both for prosecution and arranging collection of the rubbish.

This is costing you the Council Tax Payer a great deal of money to ensure that our environment is maintained to a pleasing standard and to protect our flora and fauna.

There are thirteen household waste and recycling centres in Cornwall and details of these can be found at:

If you need to report fly tipping please contact Cornwall Council:

Telephone: 0300 1234 141

Or report online at:

It would be great if you could keep us posted too and all this evidence can be used to support applications for the use of surveillance cameras to detect the culprits and stop these criminal acts.
